Maybelline Jade - Eye Makeup Remover

My semester break has just started and now I finally have the time again to write a new post for my blog :)

I’ve got a lot of new products during the past weeks/months and I actually didn’t knew, which product I should review first.
Since this is a predominantly beauty/makeup related blog I thought it would be nice to start with something that actually is made for removing all the makeup: Maybelline Jade-Eye Makeup Remover (for waterproof makeup).

To be honest with you I don’t use anything specific lately to remove the makeup on my facial skin anymore (I’ve normally used some Bebe Makeup-Wipes), but I definitely need something other than water and a washcloth to remove my mascara et cetera.

During my London-Vacation I got a sample of the “Take The Day Off” Makeup Remover by Clinique. I really liked it a lot and wanted to purchase the original bottle, but I was just not willing to spend €19,- on this product for 125 ml. So I started to search for a cheaper alternative and ended up getting the Maybelline version, which I even like so much more!

Why do I prefer this one, over the more expensive remover?
- You will need less product (The Clinique Makeup Remover was not very efficient).
- You will get rid of your makeup faster.
- It’s gentler to your eye area (You have to rub less intensive).
- The skin around the eyes feels very nice afterwards.
- It’s less expensive! (One bottle costs just € 3-4 for the same amount of product).

And for all the people, who have sensitive eyes like me: It’s perfume free, non-irritating and save to use with contacts.

As you can see this bottle contains two different liquids (white and blue), so you have to shake…shake…shake before usage (but actually I figured out, that it also works great without mixing both liquids through shaking.)

I haven’t tried the non-waterproof version, because it wouldn’t make sense since my mascara is waterproof. That’s why I can’t tell you if both are equally good, but I’m super duper happy with my waterproof edition.

In some other parts of the world there is a pink version available by Jade Maybelline, which is from their “Expert Eyes”-Line, but I really don’t know if it would be the same.

I’m sure there are tons of different Eye Makeup removers, so please let me know your favorite one.

The HAPPY HOLIDAYS-Look

I've uploaded a new tutorial to my YouTube-Channel and as I've promissed I'm going to list all the products I've used for my HAPPY HOLIDAY-Look.

If you have'nt seen the video yet, just click here.

Let's come to the most important part, the products I've used:

URBAN DECAY
  • Eyeshadow Primer Potion as my base (not mentioned in video)
MAC
  • Cream Color Base in PEARL

  • Eyeshadows in GOLDMINE, WOODWINKED, ANTIQUED, CARBON

  • Lash Duo Adhesive

  • Select Moisturecover Concealer in NW 15 (not mentioned in the video)

CLINIQUE

  • Brush-On Cream Liner in TRUE BLACK

  • Lash Doubling Mascara in BLACK

  • Vitamin C Lip Smoothie in MANGO THON

  • Moisturizing Foundation in FRESH BEIGE (not mentioned in the video)

BOBBI BROWN

  • Bronzing Powder in GOLDEN LIGHT

RED CHERRY

  • False Lashes no. 46 (I've shortened them in length & width)

For my shown HAIRSTYLE you also need:

  • Clear Elastic

  • Bobbi Pins

  • Hairband

  • Brush

  • Hairspray (not used in the video and is just optional)

To give you and idea of the amount of time this entire look requires, I would say you should plan to invest one hour to recreate this look (if you are used to applying make-up and false lashes).

I hope you enjoy your HOLIDAYS and have fun by doing your make-up and pimping your hair.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! (If you don't celebrate Christmas I still hope you will have a great time)

SOS-HELP: Redness Solution Urgent Relief Cream

I think you can tell, that I love Clinique because of their skincare treatments and this cream is one of the reasons!

I have constantly reddish cheeks, but the intensity of the redness changes day by day.
If I think that it’s impossible to cover the redness with my foundation, I will always put this cream underneath. In a couple of minutes my skintone is even looking, without a lot of afford!
I use a pea-size amount and dab it onto the areas where my skin needs some extra help and then I’m blending it to the sides.

Not just that I can see that my skin is in a better condition, it also feels so much better. My skin gets a soft touch and that is great if you want to apply foundation afterwards. Even if I normally do not use any kind of base, I think this product somehow works like a base!

It’s said that this can be used for every skintype, but I’m not sure if I would use this on oily skin.
My logical reasoning tells me, when this suits my dry skin, then probably it’s not made for the opposite. BUT you can always try!
It smells very neutral, maybe a little like cucumber and the consistency is comparable to yoghurt and one note for the sensitive skintypes: It’s suitable for highly reactive skintypes!

I wish you “Happy Non-Redness Days”...
